Overwatering for lucky bamboo leaves turning yellow

The most common reasons is overwatering which turns the leaves of your plant yellow. If water is added to the soil when the plant is already waterlogged. The roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow and die.

If your plant’s roots begin to rot, the water and nutrients needed by the plant to survive will not reach the plant’s leaves. So care should be taken to give this water when the soil is dry. When growing the lucky bamboo in water, change the water every 7-10 days and clean the pot monthly to remove the bacteria.

This tropical plant needs temperatures between 60-90 degree Fahrenheit. If the temperature change in winter then stressed the plant and causes the leaves turns yellow. Putting the plant into heating exposure its also stress the plant. So move the plant to a place where a consistent temperature with no exposure of cold or hot air.

Natural Aging

Yellow leaves, mean your plant is going through the its natural life cycle. Such yellow leaves are seen at the bottom of the plant and new growing leaves are seen at the top. Such old leaves should be cut off and a healthy environment should be provided for the plant to grow.

Root bound

If there is any problem with the plant, first of all we check the plant root. Root bound is happens when the plant is shifted to a container. It happens when the shift time roots become tangled. You can use a larger container and also be careful to shift time roots do not get tangled. The new pot should be fresh, well draining soil and roots should be placed carefully.

Pest attacks

It can also cause the leaves to turn yellow when pests such as aphids and spider mites attack your plants. To avoid this, wipe the affected leaves thoroughly with a soft cloth with neem oil to prevent them from being attacked by the insect. When the pest gone then remove the damage leaves and give your lucky bamboo proper growing conditions.
