The most common reasons is overwatering which turns the pothos leaves yellow. If water is added to the soil when the plant is already waterlogged, the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow. So give water when the soil is dry.
The pothos plant likes having its soil dry out completely before watering. Root rot can be prevented by increasing drainage and adjust your watering schedule.
Nutrient deficiency
Nutrient deficiency in soil can cause leaves turning yellow. Pothos plant does not need much fertiliser just feed your plant balance fertiliser during the growing season. Do not feed during the Winter. Too much fertiliser can affect soil health and cause leaves to turn yellow.
I just give my home based fertiliser
1. Egg outer shell = After removing the egg shell, dry it and mix it with potting soil. Its high calcium and removes any pathogens or bacteria

2. Aquarium water = High Nitrogen fertiliser

3. Banana peels = its just put on your pot’s soil and use as fertilizer. It’s potassium and calcium-rich fertilizer that promotes root growth.

Pests
Another common problem is pest attacks like spider mites, mealybugs are pesticides. It is important when applying the pesticides, to carefully read the instructions on the pesticide packets and only apply the infected area. If the plant gets too much pesticide by mistake, the plant will be damaged and the leaves turn yellow. Do not use a spray of soapy water to wipe the leaves of the plant. Wipe gently with alcohol in a soft cloth. This way we get rid of this pest and disease.
Old age
Older leaves on a Pothos to turn yellow and drop off. It’s just a part of the leaf life cycle. But if the new leaves turn yellow then it is harmful for the plant. So the plant should be given the proper care that the plant needs.
Insufficient light
Pothos plants need bright indirect light, it’s not recommended direct light. If your plant getting too much light then the leaves will start to burn, place it in a less Sunny spot. There is a high chance when your plant has older leaves.
For this reason, the photosynthesis process are cannot occur, the plant cannot produce chlorophyll which is the component of this process. First of all, the plant should be shifted to a place where indirect light comes.
I know this light problem is a big problem if you keep the plant indoors. Because the plant does not receive electricity properly, so you should visit this page at least once to solve the problem of lighting.
Temperature change
Sudden temperature change can cause Pothos leaves turn yellow. If the plant is placed near a window, the sunlight will put more stress on the leaves. If the temperature sometimes rises or falls, it is best to keep a temperature regulator near the plant.
