  • Overwatering
  • Nutrient deficiency
  • Temperature changes
  • Insufficient light
  • Pest attacks
  • Old leaves

Overwatering

The yellow leaves that indicate your plant is being over watering. If the Kalanchoe plant receives too much water, its leaves look droopy and yellow. Water is added to the soil when the plant is already waterlogged. The roots will rot and Kalanchoe plant can’t survive for long in saturated soil.
If your plant’s roots begin to rot, the water and nutrients needed by the plant to survive will not reach the plant’s leaves. This causes the leaves to shrivel up to retain water. To avoid these problems, you should place the plant in a place where the drainage hole will be good so that even if you overwater, the excess water will escape through that hole.

Nutrient deficiency

Nutrient deficiency in soil can cause to turn yellow. This plant does not need much fertiliser just feed your plant balance fertiliser during the growing season. Do not feed during the Winter. Too much fertiliser can affect soil health and cause leaves to turn yellow.

Temperature changes

The ideal temperature in 65°F to 75°F, if your plant gets too cold and too hot, it may drop leaves. In both cases, moving your plant in a suitable location to get ideal temperature. Care must be taken not to place in a location where warm temperatures occurs.

Insufficient light

Kalanchoe plant needs bright indirect light, not recommended direct light. If your plant getting too much light then the leaves will start to burn, place it in a less Sunny spot. There is a high chance when your plant has older leaves.

For this reason, the photosynthesis process are cannot occur, the plant cannot produce chlorophyll which is the component of this process. Place this plant on indirect light area.

Another common problem is pest attacks like spider mites, mealybugs are pesticides. It is important when applying the pesticides, to carefully read the instructions on the pesticide packets and only apply the infected area. Kalanchoe plant gets too much pesticide by mistake then the plant will be damaged and turned into yellow colour.
Do not use a spray of soapy water to wipe the leaves of the plant. Wipe gently with alcohol in a soft cloth. This way we get rid of this pest and disease.

Old leaves

When new growth is appear then plant will begin discarding leaves it no longer needs. Moreover, the lower leaves are the first leaves to yellow and fall off of the plant. Using a sharp, sterilised knife to cut the leaves at the base near the stem.
