Arrowhead plant care tips
This article will help you with all the essentials you need to grow your plant. Adequate amounts of water, light, and soil should be obtained for the plant to grow. The problems and benefits of the plant have also been shared in this article.
> Light Requirement for Arrowhead Plant
This plant prefers a medium to bright spot with indirect sunlight which can burn their leaves. They will tolerate average household humidity, but will really thrive if you can put them in a naturally humid spot. Avoid direct light, it may burn those gorgeous leaves. Keep in mind also that brighter light helps leaves become more pink, but only to a point.
> Water Requirement for Arrowhead Plant

Water your plants once a fortnight in winter and twice a week. Pink Syngonium needs 0.8 cups of water every 9 days when it doesn’t get direct sunlight and is potted in a 5.0″ pot.
Allow the top 3-5cm of soil to dry out before watering again. In the cooler months, your plant won’t want as much water.
It prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly.
Once you have your cuttings, place them in a container filled with clean water. Make sure that at least one or two nodes are submerged under the water level to encourage root development.
> Soil for Arrowhead Plant
The Syngonium pink plant also prefers well draining mix soil. Peat based soil is best choice for this plant because it is lightweight,well-draining, and rich in nutrients.
A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage.
It also holds moisture well, which is important for a plant that prefers slightly moist soil. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick.
> How MuchTemperature & humidity maintain in Arrowhead Plant?
These plant are pretty tolerant of a wide range of indoor temperature. It is a tropical charmer, is partial to a cozy spot with temperatures. between 60-85° Fahrenheit.
Avoid placing your plants in draft area or near heating or cooling area. Extreme temperature are fluctuations can stress your plant.
You can’t make it grow any faster than it’s going to grow but you can provide ideal conditions so it grows as fast as is possible. Ideally above 50% humidity, but 60% to 70% will be really appreciated.
It is a tropical plant so this plant doesn’t want high humidity during the winter.
> Fertilizer used on Arrowhead Plant
Fertilizer is very important for plant growth. It should be fertilized during the growing season with ½ strength complete liquid fert once a month.
A balanced N-P-K ratio is recommended for Syngonium plants. Aim for a fertilizer with a ratio like 10-10-10 to support both foliage and flowering. This plant should be repotted after it doubles in size or once a year, whichever comes first.
My personal opinion is that fertilizer should be used weekly which is fertilising lightly, every time you water.

How to get propagate your Arrowhead plant?
You can propagate your plant by cuttings placed in water or directly into compost. Cut a stem from a healthy plant just below a node, ensure that the stem has at least one leaf. New roots will appear within two weeks. Use a knife to cut off shoots about 10 cm long below a thickened area on the shoot, the leaf node. Remove the lowest leaves and put the cutting into soil.
The best place for your cuttings is a bright location without any direct sun. Once the cuttings are rooted, you can plant them into a proportionately sized pot.
Arrowhead plant Pruning
You can prune your Syngonium to maintain its shape and promote bushier growth. The growing season when the shoots have become too long by simply cutting the shoots at the desired length with a sharp knife. You can then grow new Syngonium plants from these cuttings.
You can prune off long and leggy stems completely, and tip pruning or pinching can be done on other stems to prevent legginess and encourage bushiness. If your Syngonium is dropping leaves, it may be due to insufficient light or overwatering. Make sure the lighting and watering routine is proper.
Common problem of Arrowhead plant
- Syngonium plants can fall victim to various pests and diseases, including spider mites, mealybugs, scale insects, root rot, leaf spot, and bacterial blight.
- Too much water can cause root rot, yellowing or leaf drop and Root rot and poor growth. Overwatering invites root rot, while underwatering leaves your plant gasping for moisture.
- Overwatering causes the roots to rot, and the leaves to turn yellow and fall off. To prevent and treat root rot, ensure that the soil has adequate drainage and don’t overwater the plant.
